SDPEBA offers three different medical plans to its members, all of which are Sharp HMO plans (Health Maintenance Organization), which basically means, Sharp partners with specific doctors near you in order to provide you with the most benefits possible. Having three choices might make things sound complicated or that you have a lot of choices to make, but it’s actually fairly straight forward.

The three different plans are: Sharp Classic, Sharp Select, and Sharp Saver. The difference between these plans is straightforward. Sharp Classic offers the most coverage and in-network locations but has a higher premium. Sharp Select has less in-network locations and coverage than the Classic Plan, but still covers you fairly well. The Saver plan has the smallest network and least amount of coverage but costs the least. Sharp Select has more coverage but costs a bit more than the Saver plan (think of this plan as being in the middle between Saver and Classic). The Sharp Saver plan has the least amount of coverage, but also the lowest premium.

Ultimately, when you’re making a choice between these plans, ask yourself what level of healthcare you want and look at the premium breakdowns on our rate sheet. If you’re still undecided, we suggest you check out the plan differences on the pages below where we go into more detail about each plan and what it has to offer.
