Is Pet Insurance right for me?

We think pet insurance can be useful for any pet owner, but is especially useful for new pets. This is because younger pets will need a lot of routine tests and treatment that the plan will cover. It’s also great for teenaged pets because that’s when health issues tend to start to crop up (and you’ll want to be covered before your pet gets sick in a way that would be deemed a “pre-existing condition”).

That isn’t to say pet insurance is bad for older pets. It can be very useful, but as your pet gets older, your premium goes up, making it harder to recommend. That all being said, it’s always worth getting a quote and just seeing how much you could save if you have the plan.

How do I enroll?

To enroll you can click “get a quote” on the side bar. From there, you just follow the instructions! If you run into any issues or need help, you can email support@sdpeba.org.

How do I file a claim?

Once you’re enrolled and your plan has begun, you simply go to any vet like normal. After your visit, request an itemized bill. You then have three options, you can submit your claim via the MetLife phone app, through MetLife’s website, or by mailing it in! We recommend the website since it is the most intuitive and easy to use.
